Talking to the anti-AI crowd

I've been interacting a bit with the anti-AI crowd. Unfortunately it doesn't go well. A lot of people are fanatics, being very aggressive, starting with insults and taking everything to the absolute: AI is the worst, only lies, makes people worse, will single-handedly destroy our planet, everything is bad, nobody likes it…

Criticism is fine, but this is the first type of AI humanity has invented. No excitement for that? No sci-fi fans who dreamed of AI? This could be the first step.
